James
Young is the lead guitarist of Styx. Styx, called by Rolling Stone
"the Pearl Jam of the 70's," earned top 5 singles and gold and platinum
albums in the 70's, 80's and 90's. In between Styx albums JY has assembled
a group of great musicians to play live and cut this stunning, diverse
and hard rockin' record. Lead vocals are alternately handled by JY,
guitarist Michael
Baran, keyboardist Lou
DePasqua, and bassist Hank
Horton. The group is anchored by vet drummer Ken
Harck (best known for Off Broadway).
Writing contributors include all band members, Styx-mate Glen Burtnick,
Enuff Z'Nuff's Donnie Vie and Chip Z'Nuff, and Kit Hain. While JY
is best known for his rockers, the album also includes production
showcases, power pop, gorgeous ballads and the epic "City Of Holy
Faith." Fans of both his previous solo work, as well as Styx fans,
will welcome this release.
