Come In 773! CD

Whitehouse Records, a sister label of Waterdog, experienced the change of telephone area code (which was always and forever 312) to the confusing 773. Of course, releasing a compilation album was the only solution. Most of these bands lived and played in 773, and some such as Spelunkers, made frequent visits.

Showcase Music Magazine raved that 773! is "overflowing with some of the most creative, talented, and innovative bands ever to grace the Chicago music proves that Chicago, like Seattle or the Bay Area, can also be the birth grounds for trendsetting music that can turn the industry head over heels."

While released way back in 1997, the vast majority of the musicans included here are still playing and recording with such stars and folks as Bob Mould, the Goo Goo Dolls, Frisbie, Robert Pollard, Blue Men Group, The Handcuffs, Mount Pilot, Cupcakes, Sunny Day Real Estate, Pop Psychology, Down The Line, Chamber Strings, The Bad Examples, Tommy Keene, Helen Money, Garrison Starr, Badfinger, and Ralph's World. And Al Rose is still Al Rose. The tracks from Verbow, Frisbie, and "Emotional Pinata" by Soulvitamins remain exclusive to this disc.
