Ralph Covert & The Bad Examples - Kisses 50 Cents CD

This 1995 studio album from Chicago's Bad Examples features eleven songs recorded at Idful Music by engineer Casey Rice. The music has the feel of a concert performance - direct, passionate, "crackling noises o.k. do not correct." Ralph Covert's lead vocals are complemented by then-new lead guitarist Steve Gerlach's harmonies.

Joining them on "Every Poet Wants To Murder Shakespeare" is violinist John Rice, who also added some incidental sitar to "Trying To Prove The Earth Is Flat." Perhaps the most aggressive song the band ever cut, "Beautiful Bonfire," is heated up even more by Craig Miller's blazing harmonica. Many fans (and some band members) consider this the best all-new Bad Examples record made to date.
