Torben
Floor's Carey Ott is now an acclaimed solo artist. Visit his website

for current information. Chris Ott and Doug Sale are now in The
Quicksand Brothers. Below is the Torben Floor bio from 1999.
Torben Floor is a young
band that originally hails from rural Ottawa, Illinois, with their
musical influences of John Lennon, Jeff Buckley and Radiohead readily
apparent. "Live Music In The Apartment" (WM-9902) marks
its compact disc debut and should serve as an introduction to the
voice and songwriting of Carey Ott, who formed the band with bassist/brother
Chris Ott and drummer Doug Sale a few years ago. Guitarist and vocalist
John Moony joined the group upon their relocation to Chicago, where
all the members now reside.
Torben
Floor developed its sound through live performance and recording
sessions with Steve Albini, Jimmy Johnson (Cheap Trick) and Mark
Hubel (Hum). While "Apartment" was indeed largely recorded
in the boys' former apartment, two tracks created at Mark Rubel's
Pogo Studios (Champaign) conclude the disc. Post-production and
mastering were handled by Chris Greene of Alien Soundscapes (Chicago).
An alternate version of the final track, "Disillusion,"
and "Sunk Inside..." were included on a promotional ASCAP
compilation at the end of 1998. The quartet has played at important
festivals and conferences including Milwaukee's Summerfest, CMJ,
St. Louis' MRMF, Mobfest (Chicago) and most recently a private showcase
in Austin during SXSW.
