The
latest studio album from Chicago's most consistently popular live
act. Eleven songs recorded at Idful Music by engineer Casey Rice
and produced by The Bad Examples. This album has the feel of a concert
performance - direct, passionate, "crackling noises o.k. do not
correct." Ralph Covert's lead vocals are now complemented by lead
guitarist Steve Gerlach's harmonies. On eight of the songs it's
just the band.
Joining them
on "Every Poet Wants To Murder Shakespeare" is violinist John
Rice, who also added some incidental sitar to "Trying To Prove
The Earth Is Flat." Perhaps the most aggressive song the band
has ever cut, "Beautiful Bonfire," is heated up even more by Craig
Miller's blazing harmonica. All of these Covert originals have
been played before thousands of people in the last year in concert
and on their many radio appearances.
