Drowning in my Senses

(Ralph Covert -Waterdog Music / ASCAP)

Morning slipped in through my window
Found me sleepless in my bed
There’s always somewhere better than this
If it’s better than this you want

Sunlight sifting through the shadows
An abandoned paperback lying on the floor
Like it or not there’s no escaping who we are

There’s always somewhere better than this
If it’s better than this you want
There’s always something better to see
And I’m hoping it’s not too late

Holding on to my bad habits
Got your letter and I really meant to write
Jumbled the thoughts I had
Falling headlong through the night

There’s always somewhere better than this
If it’s better than this you want
There’s always something better to see
And I’m hoping it’s not too late

Not too late to play my part to make my stand to take my try
But I’m lying here defenseless underneath the morning light

I’m drowning in my senses ...
