It's an 11-track disk that I feel is one of the best I have heard in a long time. There is not a disappointing song. From "Every Poet Wants to Murder Shakespeare," to "A Mindless Pop Song," every song is worth listening to. I can hardly put into words how good this disk is. To be brutally honest, I am really surprised that the Bad Examples have not become more mainstream than they are.
The band is Ralph Covert on vocals and guitar, Pickles Piekarski on bass and vocals, Terry Wathen, killer beats, and Steve Gerlach, lead guitar and vocals. Covert writes the songs to sheer perfection, while Gerlach gives the music a life of its own.
Piekarski's bass sounds are supportive and irreplaceable, while Wathen's drums fill in better than any I have heard in a long while. Unfortunately, this is the last album that Wathen will be recording with the rest of the band. I only hope they can find someone just as good to replace him.
If you are going to buy any disk soon, make it this one. "Kisses Fifty Cents" is The Bad Examples fourth CD and if they keep writing like they are now, you will be certain to hear their name again. If not from me, then from someone who just might be a DJ for a major radio station, playing them during prime time.
